Founded by Dr. Burcin Ogrenir, a highly skilled expert in child development, personal development, family communication, career and education, roots of APRIL INSTITUTE were planted during her years in education psychotherapy and coaching.

Dr. Ogrenir received her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood Education at the Penn State University where she also trained in Applied Clinical Psychology Masters Program. She also holds a Masters degree in Early Childhood from University of Pittsburgh and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. Dr Ogrenir is an active academician having taught as an Assistant Professor at the City University of New York for 8 years, and as an adjunct at the New York University, Long Island University and Bahcesehir University in Istanbul. She has also been an active scholar presenting her work in international conferences on the topics of Emotional Intelligence, Teacher Education and Multiculturalism.For the past 15 years, she has been involved in various educational projects including working with children with special needs, conducting Parent Training series and consulting schools in the topics of Behavior Management and Teacher Education. Through April Institute, she intends to make learning, development and life success possible and accessible regardless of our differences in culture, abilities and background.
